I did it! I bought my first Christmas tree! I planned on getting a live one (I much prefer them, frankly) but when I was at the thrift store the other day looking for a tree skirt and stand, I learned that Christmas decorations were half off! That meant my tree skirt was only $5.00 and the tree with lights was only $32! Yeah, some of the lights are burned out and there are a few branches missing but I compensated with extra tinsel and other sparkly stuff and put the gaping hole against the wall. LOLHere's the skirt:
My handyman helped me assemble it while she was napping yesterday and I turned the lights on right before I went up to get her. When we turned the corner on the landing and she saw the tree, she said, "Oh, pwitty", said "hi" to the tree and then gave it a hug. :-D Unfortunately, the light wasn't on so the video is a bit dark but you get the idea.Here are a few shots of her with the tree that day:
I finished decorating it last night. I think it looks pretty nice actually! Now all I need are some live wreaths to bring lovely pine aroma into our home. Presenting our first tree:
