It's With Great Joy that I Share This News...

I accepted a referral!!! I got it over two weeks ago and it's been so hard to keep it quiet, but I couldn't post until I got the opportunity to share the news with my parents in person and I wasn't able to drive there until yesterday! It's been a crazy couple of weeks filled with insane work and personal obligations but I can finally exhale and share my joy with all of you. She is an adorable little girl with soft curls and beautiful, bright eyes. Though I hold my breath and guard my heart until I pass court, I am thrilled. Two years, five months in the adoption process. 4 months, 2 weeks, 3 days waiting for a referral. It's been a long road but my time has finally arrived.

OK, so, yeah, I had a referral at this point but I couldn't say anything. Sorry for the deception bloggy friends but I couldn't let my parents read about it on my blog!

Have I really been waiting four months for a referral? It's strange how I felt each day yet it also seemed to fly by. Still got my fingers crossed that I'll spend Christmas in Ethiopia...

* Oh, and so you don't think my agency is cruel to send me an email that I may think is a referral, you should know that I contacted them first to see if there was any news.

People who don't even know I am #1 on the waiting list are starting to ask me when my daughter is coming home.

People I wouldn't expect to be excited about it, are.

Meanwhile, I have butterflies thinking about becoming a mom cause I think I will know who she is by the end of the month!!!!

My agency says to expect a referral of a girl under age two before the end of 2009! Wow. It is starting to get exciting as it gets closer and closer and actually begins to feel real. I have been decluttering and cleaning and organizing all summer... I guess I am nesting! It's not just pregnant women who go through the urge to make their homes spotless! My mom is coming down this weekend and I am so excited to share with her all my preparations and to go out together and buy more stuff!!

Two months months down. I wonder how many to go?
