As Much as I Thought I Hated it..

I think I actually like it. Menu planning, that is. I never really hated it--that's a strong word-- but I never really enjoyed it. I just want to eat what strikes my fancy at any given moment. But the reality is, that spur of the moment life style is over and instead I have a very hungry toddler when I pick her up from daycare. The days of lingering over sushi and sake are over. Wait, I never liked sake.. but you know what I mean. So I have learned to like it. Menu planning that is. So much easier on both of us if dinner is ready or I can rush right in and get it prepared. It's healthier. I know exactly what ingredients are in it. There are leftovers which are great when we are in a hurry (read:famished) and I am getting better at cooking. I like honing this skill, frankly. I always liked to bake, but cooking? Not so much. But you know what? It's not so bad.

So, here's this week's menu:

Sesame chicken
Pan fried fish
Thai chicken
Leftovers
Leftovers again ..or I may go out (her teacher promised me next weekend.. maybe the 6th time's the charm. heehee)

Stats? Let's give that a rest this week. I am just so happy that all recent labs indicate I am healthy. And you know what? Nothing else really matters right now!!

My cooking skills could use some work, but I still can't bring myself to meal planning. Kudos to you. Keep posting about it and might be persuaded to try ;-)
