Dating Update

Well, I followed your advice. I told D who I was. He claimed he had no idea. I told him ball was in his court on whether to proceed because, frankly, the more I thought about it, the less interested I became. He waited five days to respond and then called. We chatted. He had to run. And I haven't heard back. And I am totally fine with that. Next.

Now on to M. He and I have been chatting on the phone for the past few weeks. We have a date coming up soon. So far so good: Masters in IT, great job, well-traveled, articulate, calls when he says he will, attractive enough. The problem with him is he is so uber distracted on the phone. I used to date someone like this and it annoyed the heck out of me! I have having to always carry the conversation. Thing was, in person that guy was very attentive; still not a great conversationalist, but at least attentive. So, I will give M. the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he's just not a phone person. Though it's pretty darn early to be distracted and inattentive on the phone. We'll see. Hopefully he's more interesting to talk to in person.

All I want to know is, 'Where are the men like Janet Jackson's man?!'
Have you seen him?
Hottie!
And he's a billionaire.
Which totally doesn't hurt.

And did I mention how hot he is?
That's what I'm talkin' about!!

He's a billionaire, too??? So unfair. But M seems nice, too :-).

Eh, go out with M and see how he is in person.

We need to get together one of these days. Holly and I could meet you for dinner after work sometime. We commute together from Rockville to Crofton. Let me know.

Well all I can say is "goodluck to D" you did the right thing IMHO. As they say "onwards and upwards"

With regards to M my advice is to be open hearted and give him a chance. Just remember

"Men see the telephone as a communication tool. They use the telephone to send short messages to other people. A woman can visit her girlfriend for two weeks, and upon returning home, she will call the same friend and they will talk for three hours"

Good luck and even if he shy and tongue-tied on your date it's because he is shocked that he has a date with such a wonderful, and beautiful person as you.
If M asks you " haven't I since you somewhere before your face looks familiar?" reply with a smile
"Yes you have I am the women in your dream!" this should be a big ice breaker.

As you know the rule is to be happy, humorus and let him know your life is fantastic what you are looking for is someone to join the rest of your journey.
Enjoy the dating

D

Remember how men use the telephone

THE TELEPHONE:
Men see the telephone as a communication tool. They use the telephone to send short messages to other people. A woman can visit her girlfriend for two weeks, and upon returning home, she will call the same friend and they will talk for three hours.

So keep M a chance

Girl please, D didn't sound all that stable; therefore in my bestest Rick Ross voice, "man down on that one."

Now, my question: What's wrong with M having non-telephone thrills? Heck, I'm a woman and I hate them things as well!

Go.On.A.Date!

Don't forget that book I sent you. His phone skills once you've been married for 5 years will not matter as long as he calls when he's going to be home late. Don't start the "cons" check list yet girl! he may have quite enough "pros" to get over the phone thing quite fast... before the next girl scoops him up.
