Money in, Money Out

My hot water heater died. Over a week ago. The pilot light won't stay lit. Boiling water to wash dishes and take baths is really getting old. I feel like a pioneer woman and I'm not feeling it! I want my modern lifestyle convenience back. But a new tank is going to cost me $1000! A 30-gallon tank isn't all that expensive but the installation, removal and required code upgrades are. Man, this is such bad timing!!

But, on the flip side something amazing happened. I was stressing out about paying daycare last week. With all these extra costs for readoption and moving, my (non-existent) budget is being stretched really thin. I was wondering how I was going to pay them $295 last week. I put it out there that I needed some money to come through and then I got this in the mail:

Can you read it? Click on it to enlarge (and ignore the scribbles that a cute toddler added). Yup, it's an escrow surplus check in the amount of $282.59. This check arrived the day before the daycare payment was due giving me time to deposit and have it clear before theirs did. I kid you not. Amazing, I tell you. It was a mere $2.41 shy of what I needed and I certainly had that.

Now I need to do really well on the yard sale tomorrow because I want to make more than the I have to pay for the hot water heater! Wish me luck, say some prayers and put out there to the Universe because my last yard sale wasn't very successful!!!!
