If you haven't heard, this weekend (June 20th and 21st) is Father's Day Frosty Weekend. You can read the details by clicking on the link but basically they will donate $.50 from every Frosty sold or $.25 from every Father's Day card created to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. I believe the Dave Thomas Center focuses on foster care, I'm not sure. What I do know is they have a packet of information available to help you talk with your employer about adding adoption benefits to the maternity leave policy. My school district definitely needs to make some changes in that part of our contract! My packet is here. I haven't had time to look at it yet but I will most definitely be reading it in the coming weeks!So, buy a Frosty or make a card! I definitely will!

I would love to see you when we get back to DC. Of course, my mom already has planned for all her friends to come and meet Charlie, and I'm worried that might overwhelm her. I've warned her that we are supposed to be "cocooning" and I won't let anyone harm Charlie, even just by sticking their heads around a corner to peek at her. We'll have to play it by ear and see how she takes the whole trip back, etc. Maybe she will be totally easy going and fine, as my mom (who has met her) seems to think is her personality. We'll see. But I would LOVE to meet you! I bet we would get along great :-) I just have that feeling from your blog and from talking to you those few times. Congrats on the dossier... it's zoom ahead time now!
