I'm back

So, it's been a minute. I know, I know. But I had a lot on my mind and I needed to relax and try to enjoy my short summer vacation. I did a quick weekend in LA to help celebrate my sister's 50th, my niece's 20th and my nephew's 18th birthdays. They all have August birthdays so my sister threw a big party. My parents and other sister flew out from Pennsylvania so I got to spend time with them, my cousin Chucky and my LA friends. The weather was perfect so I also got to the beach. I had forgotten how beautiful LA is! Here are some pictures from the weekend.

I needed that trip! But the main reason I haven't been blogging isn't because I was traveling and enjoying my summer. I really took some time off to think, reflect, meditate and pray. Several weeks ago I had another post surgery check up and got great news... I can conceive. I was very happy about that! Such a blessing and I am grateful that I am healing nicely. But, as you know, I am no spring chicken and when I really think about it I am not excited about IUI. It is an option I may reconsider if I fall in love but I am having a difficult time picturing doing it alone. But I can picture myself adopting & I'm excited about adopting from Ethiopia! So, today I faxed my application to the Gladney Center for Adoption!! I am still very nervous about parenting by myself but I am going to step out on faith that it will be alright.
